When you ring us in relation to a workplace injury, our staff are trained to prioritise work-related injuries and provide an appointment as quickly as possible. There is always a dedicated staff member available to answer work-related injury enquiries.
Doctors practising at Valewood Clinic have a thorough understanding of Certificates of Capacity and Return-To-Work plans. Many of them have completed Certificates of Occupational Health through Monash University. We always aim to minimise Lost Time Injuries and keep workers engaged with their workplace, as we consider this the best practice.
Injured workers will always receive the utmost care and compassion at our clinic. We will tailor restricted or modified duties to suit the injury and stage of recovery while treatment and rehabilitation continue. We believe three-way communication between the doctor, patient, and the employer is key to a satisfactory outcome for all parties.
Minor surgical procedures (suturing/ splinting/ wound management/ removal of foreign bodies from eyes) can be performed at the clinic. We can also instigate investigations such as X-rays and Urine Drug and Alcohol Screening as required or requested.
Dr. Peter Lackner has a Diploma in Sports Medicine and can provide a depth of knowledge and experience in managing joint and soft tissue injuries which can, at times, be challenging to manage.
We have a well-established network of specialists that we call upon for advice when required, including orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Doug Li.
Our onsite physiotherapy group, PhysioChoice, is available weekly to manage musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitate patients with the aim of preventing recurrence.
Our large, well-equipped Treatment Room is staffed by nurses who are experts in wound management, immunisation, and drug and alcohol screening. They are also skilled at providing Therapeutic Ultrasound Treatments for muscle and joint injuries.
