Valewood Clinic Fees

Valewood Clinic operates in accordance with a time-based private billing schedule. The appointment fee is determined by the duration of time the doctor dedicates to your care, including the review of your medical history, previous appointment notes, results and the documentation of new consultation details. Hence, the consultation fee may not reflect the appointment type booked.

If the duration of your consultation is shorter than the appointment type booked, you will be charged less. If your consultation is longer than the appointment type booked, you will be charged more.

Our doctors bulk bill pension card holders between 8 am and 3 pm, Monday to Friday for face-to-face consultations. Healthcare card holders will receive a $10 discount on their consultations between these times. There are no out-of-pocket fees for DVA card holders prior to 5 pm on weekdays.

As our doctors operate as independent medical practitioners, they can determine their own fees and billing arrangements outside of these conditions. However, preventative health assessments, GP chronic condition management plans, their reviews, and domiciliary medication management reviews are bulk billed at all times.

All fees must be paid immediately after your consultation unless a prior arrangement has been mutually agreed upon.

Return to Work (WorkCover)

Consultations are charged in accordance with Valewood Clinic’s time-based private rates. Fees are to be paid by the patient at the conclusion of the patient’s consultation unless a mutually agreed upon prior arrangement has been made. A receipt and invoice will be provided to the patient for them to claim reimbursement from their Return-to-Work Coordinator or company.

There is an additional private fee of $50 for workcover consultations booked after 5 pm on weekdays and all day on Saturday.

Non-Attendances or Cancellation Fees

We request that you provide a minimum of 1 hours’ notice if you are not able to attend your consultation. This provides Valewood Clinic with the opportunity to offer your appointment to another patient needing to see the doctor.

There is a fee of $50 for non-attendances and for appointments cancelled within an hours’ notice.

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise that are out of your control and may occasionally prevent you from attending your scheduled appointment. Please be assured that non-attendance or cancellation fees are reviewed at the discretion of the practice, and we encourage patients to contact us as soon as possible to discuss their circumstances.

Transfer of Medical Records

We understand that transferring your medical records may be part of an important change in your healthcare, such as moving to a new area, changing doctors, or seeking specialist care. An administrative fee applies to help cover the time and resources involved in retrieving, preparing, and securely transferring your records while ensuring your information remains accurate and protected.

Before your medical records can be transferred to your new healthcare provider, an administration fee of $27.50 will need to be paid.

Treatment Room Services and Consumables

Services from our treatment room, including procedures, spirometry tests, ECGS, aclasta and iron infusions, and the use of dressings and vaccines will incur a separate fee.

There are no fees for childhood vaccinations under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) or other eligible vaccinations funded by the Australian government.
