Magas completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, and Bachelor of Medical Science through the University of Melbourne in 2010.
He underwent physician training at various hospitals in Victoria up until 2016. He also experienced 18 months working in a private high dependency and coronary care unit, while at the same time working as a locum in various hospitals around Victoria, NSW and QLD.
Subsequently, Dr Magas Abdela decided to retrain in General Practice and obtained his Fellowship in 2022.
Areas of interest include chronic disease management, diabetes, heart disease and stroke, primary prevention, aged care and Men’s health
His interests outside work have seen him spending time with family and working for the community, in particular the Ethiopian community, where he has been involved in youth work tutoring mathematics and chemistry. He doesn’t mind a soccer game on the odd occasion, having once been a keen player.
