Our standard medical aims to assess a person’s general health and fitness, as opposed to risks linked to specific workplace exposures or high-risk duties. Standard medicals are completed when a person’s proposed responsibilities include light duties, office work, non-hazardous tasks and when no regulatory or industry-specific medical is required.

Our standard medical consists of a:

• Demographic and occupational history
• Health and lifestyle questionnaire
• General health assessment

The standard medical is typically completed with a combination of the following:

• Audiometry Test (Hearing assessment)
• Spirometry Test (Lung function assessment)
• Instant Urine Drug and Alcohol Screen (with our nurses)
• Laboratory Urine Drug and Alcohol Screen (with Melbourne Pathology)
• Basic Musculoskeletal Function Assessment (with our nurses)
• Extensive Musculoskeletal Function Assessment (with our physiotherapist)
