Dr Hikaru Hashimura
Endocrinologist
Dr Hikaru Hashimura graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Monash University in 2014 and completed advanced training in endocrinology at Royal Hobart Hospital, Monash Health and St Vincents Hospital Melbourne. She obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
Hikaru has strong and broad interests in all aspects of endocrinology, including diabetes, thyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, endocrine issues in pregnancy, menopause and weight management. She believes in open and transparent communication with her patients and encourages active participation in their treatment. Hikaru embraces a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach that recognises the importance of mental and physical wellbeing for optimal clinical outcomes.
Originally from Osaka, Japan, Hikaru is the founder and president of Japanese Medical Support Network Melbourne, aiming to improve healthcare delivery to the Japanese community. She is the only Japanese-speaking endocrinologist in Australia and can undertake consultations in Japanese.
