Crystalline Silica Medical

Crystalline silica has dangerous health consequences for employees when silica dust generated from ongoing work (e.g. cutting concrete, tiles or bricks, masonry or roadworks) becomes airborne and inhaled by employees.
Inhaling silica dust over time can cause serious diseases including silicosis, lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
It is therefore paramount that potential candidates are screened and current employees have ongoing crystalline silica medicals to monitor their lung function, health and implement mechanisms to prevent employees from further silica dust exposure.
Our crystalline silica medical consists of a:
- Demographic and occupational history
- General and respiratory health questionnaire
- General health assessment
- Spirometry test (Lung function assessment)
- ILO Chest X-Ray
